Weekly post update fail, lets try again!

Apparently updating my blog is a lot like working out for me. If I skip it just once then I end up skipping it altogether before just giving up on it completely.

And that is why I skipped weekly updates for...a whole month.

Whoops.

I guess I could use the excuse of The Busy Trap and say I was just too busy to update, but that would be a lie. It was more a mix of: nothing to update about and general laziness (also a newfound Reddit addiction). I wonder if I'll attempt Blog Every Day in August this year? I only have one trip for that month planned.

What have I been up to for the past month? Mostly working, which is good since I thoroughly enjoy my job, a lot of Internetting and a lot of watching Breaking Bad so that I would be caught up for the final season! I've also recently gotten back into Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon White (I guess maybe this time I'll try to beat it).

Two weekends ago Rich and I went to the San Francisco Zoo! It's actually not that far from my apartment, so we stayed the night at my place, woke up, got breakfast down the street and then walked to the zoo! It was pretty awesome, lots of peacocks roaming around (I love peacocks!) and we got to watch them feed the tigers!

 and <3 sleepy snow leopards

I love me some peacock!

The tiger feeding was really cool, they put the meat inside of cardboard boxes and the tigers rip them open. We also learned that they're fed horse meat because it's closer to their natural diet than beef.

Earlier this week I had two friends in town, one a friend from college in town from Austin, TX and one a friend from Twitter in town from Barcelona, Spain! We all met up at Japan Town and did some exploring and shopping before chowing down on the best ramen in the city.

Adorable little mini things!

Fuku Sushi's hall of fame. There's Rob Schneider, Robin Williams, Keanu and Yoko Ono on there!

 BUTT MAGNETS

I NEED to get some of these! They were $32 there which seemed crazy expensive.

Picked up the nanoblocks Kinkaku-ji (The Golden Pavilion) since I saw it when I was in Japan in February!

This past weekend we did some more exploring (after catching up on sleep from seeing The Dark Knight Trilogy the night before). Went to Golden Gate Park for the first time and walked through a decent amount of it before having lunch at a BBQ place we always pass on our way to work. Found the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park and will have to go back some day, it looked so beautiful.

The best graffiti.

A lot of my weekends (and even some weekdays after work) have been spent going to the local card shops with Rich! One day he watched a few coworkers playing Magic: The Gathering and now he's hooked! He's got three decks he's working on right now, mostly black decks with some blue and green in there as well. I used to play MTG back in college for a bit and decided to start back up with him! Right now my main deck is a red deck, specifically a burn deck. Still needs some tweaking, but it's getting there! Just got a fancy new deck box for it!

Speaking of cool things I've acquired recently, I just bought a Mario 25th Anniversary edition DSi XL. I've been looking to add a DSi XL to my collection but I've always found the colors hideous. Then on Saturday I went into a GameStop and in the used section saw this pretty red one, lo and behold it was the limited edition one! It will go perfectly with my Mario 20th Anniversary Game Boy Micro! It's got a few little wear spots on it, but otherwise looks great! Now all I need is a normal DSi and I'll be all caught up on Nintendo systems again (until the 3DS XL!)

It also will come in handy for my renewed interest in Pokemon White while Rich is away in Japan, since I sent my 3DS with him for StreetPass tags.

Isn't it beautiful!

I ALSO recently got the COOLEST watch ever! Remember the Watch Pause Screen in Goldeneye 64? Hell. Yeah.

I found the instructions of how to get one of these awesome watches HERE! Was only $6 total (free shipping!) after the CLOCKWATCHES promo code!

Hopefully I'll have more interesting things to update about soon! I've also got a trip to LA coming up in August that I can't wait for. Need to soak up some heat and sunshine.

Till next time,
Ky

I almost regret not getting one of those Star Wars japanese things (I really don't know how are they called), but having to fit that in my suitcase... I'm not sure if it could have been transported in good condition
