Not a whole lot! Just the typical holiday stuff really!
Rich and I went to see the Zelda Symphony in San Jose on December 14th.
It was incredible, and I'm looking forward to seeing it again when it comes to San Francisco in summer.
The only downside was the symphony ended at 10:30pm, and the last Caltrain back to SF left at 10:30. So we spent $60 on a cab to Fremont, then took the BART all the way around the East Bay, then got back into SF and ordered an Uber taxi home. Over two hours and $100+ later we were home. Lesson learned for next time I guess!
I attended the IGN Holiday party with Rich.
And attended my own company's holiday party without Rich, who had flown down to SoCal two days earlier. My company's holiday party included a city scavenger hunt that led us from our office to the restaurant where the party was. The people from the scavenger hunt party also insisted on putting paint on our faces.
I wasn't thrilled.
Then my team chose the name "Ferocious Thunderkittens" and we all did whiskers on our face as well.
The scavenger hunt list included ridiculous goals such as:
"Two teammates completely enclosed in one T-shirt"
"All ten fingernails of each teammates' hands painted neon"
Check. Also thanks Sephora for the nail polish haha.
"A picture of your entire team Tebowing inside an elevator" "Entire team doing the downward dog yoga pose with a dog in the picture" "Teammate kissing a bald man's head" and a ton of others that I can't remember and don't have the pictures for.
I got a Santa hat and beard for my cat. Which she hates very very much.
I eventually flew down to SoCal to spent Christmas with Rich and his folks, which was nice and relaxing.
I got Rich some nerdy pint glasses (Batman and Avengers). A Hobbit lego set. And made him a custom Xbox controller in the colors he requested.
And Rich got me some Legos (a TIE Fighter) and an Atari Lynx with a bunch of games!
I also got an awesome keyboard for my iPad, Star Trek: First Contact on Blu-ray, a Stormtrooper hoodie, Nintendo monopoly, Portal cookiecutters (from the office white elephant gift exchange, some adorable kitty headphone jack thingies, and a bunch of different beers!
When you see it.
For New Year's Eve, Rich and I went to one of his friend's/coworker's places and had a pretty low key night with his friends and coworkers, just drinking beer and champagne and playing a little of Cards Against Humanity.
As for New Year's resolutions? I guess try to be more fit? More walks, take the 5 flights of stairs at work instead of the elevator every morning, work some nanoworkouts into my everyday life a little more. We'll see how that works out, and maybe I'll have a "rockin' bod" by the time I head back to visit Myrtle Beach sometime this spring/summer!
Happy (belated) New Year!
